The Ramakrishna Mission, Babupara, Imphal, like previous years, is conducting Winter Relief services by distributing woollen blankets & warm clothing to the poor & needy.
In the month of November, this year, the Mission provided Woollen Blankets to more than 150 sanitation workers, working in the streets around Imphal Municipal Area (Babupara, Uripok, Kangla (all sides), Sanjenthong, Andro Parking, Nungmaibung, Porompat Road, Hatta, New Checkon, Palace Compound, Canchipur, Singjamei, Yumnam Leikai, Moirangkhom, Thangal Bazaar, Nagamapal, Waheng Leikai, Keishamthong, Paona Bazaar, MG Avenue, etc) and also to 300 needy & elderly people, in different areas of Imphal. Overall, 500 blankets, worth more than Rs. Two Lakhs are being distributed this year among the poor & needy. Apart from these, we also intend to provide another 900 winter garments to the needy, in the months of Dec-Jan.
Also, on 13th & 14th Nov, Food items (Cakes, Biscuits, Cup Noodles, Health Drinks & Chocolates), Educational & Stationery items, Sports items, Footwears, Warm Socks, Sweaters, clothing, toiletries, face masks, hand sanitisers, etc, worth more than Rs. 50,000/-, were distributed to 100 destitute/orphan Girls’ at 3 Children Homes in Imphal East & Bishnupur Districts and also to 100 beneficiaries of our Integrated Child Development Project (GAP) at Ningthoukhong.
Again, on 25th Nov, 22 Sets of Warm Clothings (Winter Shirts/Hoodies & Lowers) and packs of Cold Cream worth more than Rs.10,000/-, were gifted to destitute/orphan Girls’ residing at ‘Poirei Nawakon’ (Leimakon Women’s Abode), Achanbigei, Imphal East. 30 nos of woollen Blankets were also provided to the beneficiary children and other inmates of Leimakon Women’s Abode.
To avoid the risk of spreading of Covid-19, this year the distributions are being done to smaller groups & individuals, in a phased manner.
